August 18th UPDATE! ******************* It has been a busy summer here on Poodle Mountain. My hip is getting better so my wonderful helper this summer, grand daughter Amanda has headed off to do her Graduate Studies at UNH and we are now getting ready for our annual poodle party... THE GREAT NORTHEAST POODLE PARTY/REUNION, Sept 17th, 18th, 19th 2010. Everyone with a poodle is more than welcome! In the puppy department, Fanci and the Cisco-Kid gave us our litter of Moyens, (very small standard poodles) on June 27th. We have two black on white males, and one sable male, one silver male, one blue female. These little tykes should be in the 25 to 35 lb range and 17" to 20" at the shoulders at maturity. They will be ready for their new families at the end of August after their appointment with their vet for their vet certificates of health. Sarabeth also delivered on July 7th and has blacks, creams, and apricots in the normal standard size range. Her kids will be ready the first week of September. In pups ready now I will list the youngest first and move up to the oldest... We have the Bethani and Frasier's gang, born 4-27, one small brown/brindle female, one very pretty blue/brindle on white gal, both girl are some of the multicolor patterns, small black on white male, large blue/brindle male, cream on white male, and large white male. All friendly, sweet, happy easy to train pups at 4 months of age. Next would be Celine and Cisco's small moyen black boy, with white chest ruffle Cedric, who was born 4-06, and his buddy, the Sweet Adeline X Mountie, Big Red Clifford boy, born 4-03. We have two dark brown Veronica's boys left and her unusual brown/brindle girl, all born 2-27. One big, shy, quiet Fallon boy is available, born 2-15 and one brown, small, very friendly Flora-dora girl, born 2-16. The pups are priced according to age... All go out with a spay/neuter agreement and a limited, not for breeding, AKC registration. The babies, 10 weeks to 4 months of age are $800, at 4 months they go down to $700, at 5 months, down to $600, at 6 months, down to $500. The older pups are reduced because they are just as much work as a young pup. They are actually "pups frozen in time". The require someone at home and available to supervise, train, give lots of guidance, reassurance, and love.. They did not get out into that huge big world at the proper age so can be a bit shocked by leaving the quiet, rural home of their birth and abducted by aliens and plunked down on a strange planet. They need someone to be available to be their security blanket for the first month or so while they get their self confidence back and learn worldly ways! Being Poodles, they come right along and learn quickly, but I like folks to know they are not the quick fix, the already trained and all the work done, past puppy stage bargain deal! Oh no..... they need work, time and someone willing to commit to helping them adapt, You will get the most incredible canine companion imaginable back... with just a little work and a lot of love on your part! We also have three older girls, in the one year age group, Patti-parti, Sassy, and Gretel, all going in to be spayed this month who will be available at an adoption fee of $200. Again they are special needs poodles who will take time, love, training.... There are two special needs boys, cream white Hansel, a small funny boy on the small side... 35lb at maturity, born 11-30, ($300), and the black Balou, who was born a shy, timid pup and still is.... he needs a single older female who will baby him and help him develop his potential. To the right home, he would be a minimal adoption fee.. We have a number of older adults, retiring breeders, who will also be available for homes this fall. They are also very "Special Needs' Poodles and we look for retired humans in quiet country homes, to nurture these older country bumpkins and help them adjust and adapt to the outside world. Securely fenced yard is a must for these retired breeders.
New stork arrivals for fall babies are litters by Tiffany, Felica in solids and multicolors standard pups, ready for homes in October. Grand daughter, Natalie, has two litters of miniatures. Her Ally-oops with Fritz's help has six creams and blacks, and little brown Frieda and Fritz shocked us with eight babies, 7 browns and one cream with brown pigment.. These miniature parents have grown up with Natalie and have been the nicest, calm, quiet miniatures I have ever seen! Wonderful companions for this grand daughter. (We always called Fritz Nat's "personal pan poodle". He has been with her since she was 6years old, she is now 12). Sweet little bed buddies and paddle boat companions and great swimmers.. fun on the agility course, too. We had to go to a double bed for Natalie when her "NAT PACK" swelled to five miniature adults crowding her during the night! Nat's email addy is thenatpack@msn.com Enjoy the pictures and please email me for more information at either address below. crabapplepoodles@webtv.net crabapplepoodles@yahoo.com
