About Our Golden Retriever Breeding Program
Oak Hill Goldens is located in Monmouth, Maine, a beautiful country town. We have 17 acres of land, so our puppies have plenty of room to run and play. With a lake nearby our Golden Retrievers have lots of walks and swims built into their routines. We fell in love with Golden Retrievers and became breeders after carefully researching and talking to other breeders.
We believe that the Golden Retriever offers the best nature for a family dog; calm temperament, devoted, loving and obedient.
Our puppies are born in a special birthing unit, set up in our kennel. We believe in a good nutritional start and (just as importantly) a good social start to the young puppies life. Our puppies are brought into our home and raised under foot with loads of love and attention. The puppies are accustomed to children, we have three terrific children and 5 grandchildren that love to visit and help socialize our puppies and we even include our cat "Miss Kitty" in the socialization process, so the pups are accustomed to other types of animals. Because of this early nurturing you can be assured that a puppy from us is healthy and happy.

Health Information About Our Golden Retriever Dogs & Puppies
As responsible Golden Retriever breeders, we are careful to ensure that our dogs are healthy and free from any inheritable diseases prior to breeding. We take extra measures to ensure and promote the health of our dogs by having hip x-rays and eye examinations performed on our Golden Retrievers prior to breeding. Puppies are vet checked and vaccinated before they are placed with their new owners. Our Golden Retriever puppies are de-wormed four times and receive their first shots before going to their new owners. We also provide the new owner with the names of our veterinarian in case they have any questions.
Puppies are sold on a limited AKC registration, and we ask that they be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age.
Buyer Requirements for Our Golden Retriever Puppies
If you are considering the possibility of adding a Oak Hill Golden Retriever puppy to your family, we would love to speak to you and assist you in making an educated decision about the right choice of a dog for your family. We are happy to place our [precious Golden Retriever puppies with loving, responsible families who have the time, resources and facilities to provide a good, permanent home for their puppy.
Potential buyers should have a stable home environment with a yard and be willing to attend obedience classes. Above all, your puppy must live in your home with you and be part of the family. We enjoy staying in touch with our pups and their families after they leave us, and are happy to provide any support that may be needed as you adjust to life with your new family member. We sincerely hope that all of our puppy placements are permanent, however, in the event that the new owners are unable to keep their puppy for any reason, we ask that the puppy be returned to us so that we can place it in a suitable new home.
